One thing to consider is the interface’s complete lack of hardware controls aside from one large, clickable knob. In terms of outputs, you get two balanced speaker outputs (1/4”), two independent headphone outputs, and one 1/8” stereo speaker output. CONNECT 6 supports both iOS and Android devices. According to Lewitt, it’s possible to send and receive audio back and forth between your computer and phone. There are three USB-C connectors in total – one for the computer, one for a phone, tablet, or second computer, and a third one for power – the CONNECT 6 charges mobile devices while connected. In addition to this, you can hook up a stereo source to the 1/8” Aux input. The interface has two XLR-1/4” combo inputs for microphones and instruments, each equipped with a preamp that delivers a whopping 72 dB of gain. This continues with the connectivity options, where the CONNECT 6 offers a bunch of features clearly geared towards streaming and podcasting applications. In any case, it’s an obvious indication that Lewitt is aiming the CONNECT 6 at gamers, streamers, and content creators, in addition to musicians – similar to the recently announced M-GAME line by M-Audio.
(One of my colleagues immediately commented: “That’ll make a great base for LEGO figures!”) While it’ll surely turn heads, I can imagine that it might be a bit too extravagant for some users, to put it mildly.
